Catalina’s experience includes quantifying financial losses and business valuations with respect to breach of contract, wrongful termination, shareholder disputes, corporate transactions, expropriations, matrimonial disputes, and general business consulting.
Catalina has also provided expert witness testimony in Canada. She has authored numerous expert reports for use in trial and meditation proceedings. She has been engaged on behalf of plaintiffs, defendants, and business owners/ managers.
She has also developed and critiqued financial projections related to business plans, contracts, changes in strategy, and resource extraction, and has performed complex business valuations for purposes of acquisitions/ divestitures, financial reporting, employee stock option planning, and tax planning.
Her experience has encompassed a diverse range of industries, including financial services and insurance, pharmaceutical, automotive, real estate, oil and gas, retail operations, media and entertainment, technology, and others.
Catalina is a Chartered Business Valuator, Chartered Accountant/ Chartered Professional Accountant, and is Certified in Financial Forensics with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Catalina is also a part-time instructor for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuator’s Programme of Studies, at York University. Additionally, she has authored articles and spoken about economic losses and business valuation topics for trade publications, law firms, and universities across Canada.
